It’s been 4 long years since the last one, but now the wait is over. On
August 1st and 2nd (2009), Dunkleys Shows Ltd is bringing More FM
PET EXPO back to Christchurch. The venue is once again Addington Raceway
and all displays will be housed indoors, with the animal activities and
demonstrations outside.
Participation in the show is open to all animal categories including
dogs (except those breeds banned by NZKC), cats, caged birds, cavies,
rabbits, small farm animals, horses, donkeys, poultry and fancy pigeons,
tropical fish and more. PET EXPO will also include those in the pet
industry who supply food lines, pet accessories, nutritional and animal
health products, pet publications and magazines, veterinary services,
vaccinations and drugs, etc.
Each day there will be a full timetable of events including dog breed
parades, dog agility and obedience displays, dog racing and sledge
pulling etc. If you belong to a club and would be interested in holding
an event on either or both days of the PET EXPO, please contact us.
There will also be donkey rides and buggy rides etc.
In conjunction with the Alpine Cat Club we are also hosting a
long-haired and short-haired cat show over the 2 days.
The Dunkleys team is a family business owned by brother and sister, Kim
and Fiona Dunkley. We spend most of the year organising the Great New
Zealand Craft Shows all around the country. (Full details are on our
website). For the PET EXPO we are once again joined by Phillida Gordon,
who is well-known in Canterbury for her involvement with many animal
associations and clubs. She was central to the organisation of at least
10 of our 15 previous PET EXPOS and her expertise and invaluable animal
experience will be put to good use once again.
We are also very pleased to be having Tracey and Craig Murray from
Brisbane, who are coming over to host and co-ordinate the dog arena.
They are highly respected as Australia’s best dog trainers and
participate in dog and pet shows all over the world.
It’s very exciting to be bringing the PET EXPO back and we hope that
you can join us and be part of this highly successful pet industry
event.
